It is beginning to feel like autumn here in Nye. Yesterday I saddled the mighty Victor ( my latest favorite horse also known as Deets) and we had some fun moving a herd of the neighbor's cows. He is a powerful black horse and no matter the task is ready, willing, athletic and enthusiastic. To ride him seems like flying. The sun broke warm into a clear, blue sky day. The leaves on the aspen are just beginning to turn up on the mountain and the buck brush in the coulees and draws has been a million shades of red and gold for a while now.
The Buffalo Bill Cody Museum art show and auction was, as always, a very enjoyable event and made for a fun week end in Cody, Wyoming. As always, it is a toss up as to which I enjoyed more, the preview, dinner and auction or the Brunch and Quickdraw the next day. Both were well attended and had great artists working on top notch work for top dollars. I hope to see you there one of these days.
I blocked in a " potentially possible" for the signature piece at the Artfull Event in the Beartooths next summer. A friend gave me permission to drive the jeep up into the higher reaches of his ranch where it borders the forest service and has a great view of the Beartooth Mountains in the southern view. I am going to put a herd bull elk and his harem in the foreground. I will keep you posted as to how this transpires.
I hope all is well in your world and that you enjoy a peaceful and beautiful autumn whereever you may be. Until next time, thanks for being there.
