Hello from Nye, Mt. It has been a good month with plenty of beautiful fall weather consisting of a plenty of balmy, shirtsleeve weather with enough intermittent cold and snow to remind us of what time of year it is. I have been busy pulling shoes on the horses and fixing fence in their winter pasture. A good thing about the snow is the fact that it has driven me into the cabin and to the easel. I am working on an oil of the mountains behind the cabin for a lady from Georgia and hope to be done soon. For a break every now and then I have been doing some small (5x7) watercolors for a miniature show we are having in December. I am posting a couple of them in New Work. I hope you like them. Next month I hope to get going on a painting of the Sundance Chief for the Crow tribe in oil. A lot of the 5x7's are studies of him for the oil. It will be a big one at 24x36. A lot of people have been wondering what has become of the crow Indian woman series I was doing last fall at this time. I did a number of watercolors and only one oil but then got sidetracked on these new ideas. Don't worry, though, as I hope to get back at them in between commissions this winter.
Well, it is snowing outside so I guess it is a good day to paint. I hope you are having a good season and thanks again for checking in. Tom
